Midlands' largest provider of education and training

Deciding what to do after finishing school? You might think that staying on at 6th Form is your only choice, or that your results mean you can’t follow the route you had first planned. Think again!
At Nova Training there are a wide variety of options for all young people aged 16 to 18 regardless of exam results.  Joining a 16-18 Headstart programme at Nova lets you have an individual learning plan, matched to your future aspirations and allows you to learn, earn* and gain qualifications, ultimately progressing to the next stage of your chosen career.

*Earn – Eligible learners can access Bursary Funds to support them financially throughout their programme.
Nova Training was inspected by Ofsted in December 2013 and received an overall grade of good with many outstanding features. Their success has allowed them to operate a number of youth and adult training programmes with training centres in Birmingham, Bilston, Cannock, Dudley, Hereford, Oldbury, Redditch, Stafford, Telford & Wrekin, Walsall, Wellington, West Bromwich, Willenhall and Wolverhampton.

With Nova’s unique Headstart 16-18 programme you will be supported to identify a career, perfect your skills, gain essential qualifications and explore the world of work, right the way through to a full apprenticeship. Learners who are eligible will receive payments to support their learning.

Headstart learners benefit from a great range of vocational subjects including construction, motor vehicle, hospitality, business administration, customer service, retail, nail technician courses and hairdressing. All of which are supported by Functional Skills and high quality work placements. With partnerships in place with Sport England and the FA learners can also take part in the annual Nova Games and a range of other sporting activities, all fully funded.

These courses are a great alternative to staying on at school and college and last year almost 1,600 16-18 year olds participated. This year alone over 80% of young people who started a Headstart programme will have progressed to an Apprenticeship, employment or Further Education.

With its own Apprenticeship Programme, Nova can offer all Headstart learners a seamless route to success and a direct link to the best local apprenticeships available. Nova specialise in delivering apprenticeships in: business administration, hairdressing, warehousing, customer service, retail, sales, light vehicle maintenance, body repair and paint refinishing, hospitality, HGV vehicle repair and many more.
Apprenticeship opportunities are a key component of Nova’s provision. In 2013/14 Nova engaged over 500 Apprentices with 85% of them completing and remaining in full time employment. Apprenticeships give young people fantastic prospects with the opportunity to build confidence, knowledge and improve their skills in motor vehicle, hair and beauty, administration, hospitality, warehousing to name a few.

Apprentices will earn as they learn, gaining practical skills in the workplace. As Nova Training is part of a recruitment and consultancy agency, Staff Select Ltd, they have the expertise to get you in contact with the right employer.

If you’re an employer you may be eligible for a grant of up to £1,500 per apprentice. Prospective employers or those who can help by offering high quality Work Placements, are urged to call a Nova Training Consultant on 01902 366278 for further information and to see how grants can be used to strengthen businesses.

Any potential 16-18 Headstart learner, Apprentice, parent or someone with a keen interest in what Apprenticeships or Headstart can offer can call on 01902 366278 or send an e-mail to info@novatraining.co.uk stating requirements, or please visit the website www.novatraining.co.uk and find out more about what’s on offer at Nova.
