Training Centres

Nova has 28 apprenticeship training centres throughout the West Midlands and the East of England. All centres are well equipped with ICT, plasma screens and a range of other resources. Many of our centres have additional workshops where you can learn a trade such as bricklaying, hairdressing, retail, beauty, plumbing, decorating, plastering, carpentry or motor vehicle.

Apprenticeship in Vehicle Accident Repair Body Refinishing (Paint)

Intermediate and Advanced Apprenticeships are available for those aged 16-65 and employed for 30 hours per week or more.

 

Apprenticeship courses provide an excellent opportunity for people to learn as they earn and gain nationally recognised qualifications on the job.

 

Intermediate

The Level 2 Apprenticeship in Accident Repair Paint Finishing will equip participants with the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required for working within a motor vehicle paint shop. Skills include preparing vehicles to be painted after damage has occurred, ensuring all parts have been stripped from the vehicle, sanding down relevant areas, adjoining areas for blending, masking, etching and priming areas to be treated and selecting, matching and mixing colour.


The apprenticeship includes both a knowledge and competence certificate, functional maths, English and ICT at L1, employee rights and responsibilities and personal learning and thinking skills.

 

Advanced

The Level 3 Apprenticeship in Body Refinishing (Paint) will equip experienced technicians to supervise the preparation of vehicles to be painted after damage has occurred, ensure all parts have been stripped from the vehicle, sand down relevant areas, adjoining areas for blending, masking, etching and priming areas to be treated and selecting, matching and mixing colour.


The apprenticeships will include both competence and knowledge qualifications, functional maths,  English and ICT at L2, employee rights and responsibilities and personal learning and thinking skills.

 

You will be guided and fully supported through your programme of learning by trade qualified and industry experienced assessors who will visit you in your workplace as you carry out your job.

 

Our courses are accredited by City & Guilds and are offered at both Level 2 & 3.

 

Further progression to higher level qualifications are a chosen route for some individuals.

 

Apprenticeships are free training courses that are government funded.

 

Education, Health & Care Plan

An EHCP replaces Statements of special educational needs (SSEN) and Learning Difficulties Assessments for children and young people with special educational needs.
