Last night, a very special Nova Training learner attended the #Clacton Youth Awards as a nominee for a Personal Journey Award – Special Recognition.
This award is given to just one young person each year who, through their own hard work, commitment and dedication to changing their life, has overcome some extremely challenging barriers.
Lucas Peri had been very badly bullied which led to him being home schooled and ultimately becoming increasingly isolated at home.
When Lucas first joined Nova he was taking an enormous personal step and has made great strides each day since.
He has gone from not even leaving the house at the start of the year to joining Bright Futures for Boys Club, have full attendance at Nova and subsequently upskilling his Maths and English and seeing his confidence soar.
At the event, which saw several young people recognised for their achievements, we are thrilled to announce that Lucas deservedly WON THE SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD!!.
Nova Clacton are tremendously proud of Lucas and will continue to work side by side with him to ensure his achievements are endless .
Staff from the Clacton centre were privileged to support and attend Lucas at this incredible event and want to extend their congratulations to all those nominated.
Also a huge thank you to Chris and Elsie, two young people who also attend Nova, for fully supporting the event and greeting all guests.
Well done and thank you!!
